30 minutes light steady state means 30 min light steady state. Whatever your traditional steady state split, take 2-3 seconds off it and focus on mechanics and efficiency. After the 30 minutes conclude, the focus shifts to 6k prep, in a min on min-off format. Hit the splits as prescribed, based off your goal 6k split. Hit them exactly. Don’t be afraid to move easily between each minute piece. Some athletes choose to stop completely between pieces, which is fine, others choose to keep moving to keep the blood and the body flowing.
